Beginners are likely to have a good time as well due to the lack of localism and hazards. once in a while the waves will be breaking a little close to shore, but that just makes skimboarding more appealing.
The tiny village of Mimizan Plage offers three meter waves. Car parking and crowds are of minimal concern, but do be aware that a map might be a good idea to determine the best access. Mimizan Plage also has a couple bars that are a great place to relax after wiping out one too many times.
