Surfspots South America
Central Chile has bigger waves, but the northern region has stronger waves that are better suited for surfing. Aside from the winter months of August and July, surfing is possible all year long. All of these factors make Chile one of the most popular surfing spots in not just South America, but the world.
Pichilemu is the number one spot for surfing in this country. In fact, the town hosts the annual national surfing championships. Pichilemu has something for everyone. Beginners can learn to surf on the beautiful beaches of Las Terrazas or La Puntilla, more advanced riders can surf at El Infierno and the most experienced can brave the 20 foot waves of Punta de Lobos.
Curanipe & Pullay
These beaches are another very popular option for surfers. Curanipe, a charming coastal resort, is known for long waves while Pullay beach usually has high tube waves.
